Candela Tulum is an eco-conscious retreat in the Yucatán Peninsula, minutes from the Caribbean’s pristine beaches and near the UNESCO-protected Sian Ka’an Biosphere. Designed by Candela and Estudio Macías Peredo, the 12 villas use locally sourced materials like tropical Pucté wood, chukum plaster, and limestone, blending seamlessly into the landscape. With 70% of the land preserved, the project minimizes environmental impact. The chukum walls, inspired by Maya culture, provide natural thermal insulation, setting a new standard for sustainable luxury that harmonizes with nature.
